Human Rights: Harmonizing National and International Experience
Today, the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a presentation of the training course “International Human Rights Law in the Administration of Justice” for participants of its professional retraining courses.
The event was organized through cooperation between the Academy, the International Commission of Jurists, and the British Embassy in Tashkent.
Participants included D. Aripov, Vice-Rector of the Academy, Academy staff and course participants, Gemma Warren, Project Coordinator at the British Embassy in Tashkent, and Temur Shakirov, Director of the International Commission of Jurists’ Europe and Central Asia Programme.
The presentation placed particular emphasis on judicial and legal reforms, the effective protection of human rights and freedoms, and the development of participants’ knowledge and skills in applying international law in judicial practice.
It was noted that the course aims to deepen participants’ knowledge of international human rights treaties and universally recognized legal standards, while developing their ability to apply these standards correctly and effectively in practice.
