Today, the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a dialogue entitled “Corruption — An Enemy of Development,” aimed at fostering zero tolerance for corruption among staff and enhancing their legal awareness and legal culture. Representatives of the Tashkent City Prosecutor’s Office participated in the event and delivered presentations on the legal framework for combating corruption, liability for corruption-related offenses, measures to prevent corruption in government bodies and organizations, conflicts of interest, and professional ethics. The second part of the dialogue focused on the substance and significance of Presidential Resolution No. PP-345 of 21 September 2026, “On Measures to Ensure a Safe and Respectful Working Environment in the Labour Sphere,” and Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 518 of 28 September 2026, “On Measures to Introduce Mechanisms for Ensuring a Safe and Respectful Working Environment in Government Bodies and Organizations.” In the context of these documents, participants exchanged views on fostering a safe and respectful working environment at the Academy, protecting employees’ labour rights, and implementing mechanisms to prevent workplace harassment and discrimination. At the conclusion of the event, relevant conclusions were drawn on the issues discussed. The importance of upholding the principles of legality, integrity, transparency, and mutual respect in the Academy’s activities was emphasized.

A delegation from the Supreme Council of Judges of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Academy of Justice is participating in an international conference entitled “International Cooperation in Law Enforcement: Preservation and Protection of Cultural Heritage,” held at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan. ⏺ The Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Dushanbe City Court are listed as partner organizations for the international event. The conference also brings together judicial and legal experts, Doctors of Legal Sciences, academic staff, and representatives of research institutions. 🌐 The conference places particular emphasis on the legal protection of cultural heritage, tourism legislation, the protection of human rights, as well as the application of artificial intelligence in court operations and the development of a digital judicial system.

An open dialogue was held at the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of the Dean of the Master’s Program and master’s students.   During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the organization of the educational process, research activities, and professional development of master’s students. Questions of interest to the students were also discussed. 💬 The open dialogue provided an opportunity to hear the students’ suggestions and opinions, with particular attention given to supporting them and further improving the quality of education. ❕ Such meetings play an important role in fostering effective communication with master’s students and developing their knowledge and potential.

Short-term professional development courses have been completed for legal expert-consultants at “Inson” Centers and responsible staff members of Child Social Protection Departments. The courses were organized through cooperation between the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The training programme aimed to enhance the professional knowledge and practical skills of “Inson” Center staff in family and civil law, while developing their competencies in effectively protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children and families in judicial proceedings. During the courses, participants attended theoretical and practical sessions on recent developments in relevant legislation, legal risk management, contractual and legal relations, judicial practice, and current issues in legal examination. The sessions were delivered by the Academy’s faculty members, as well as experienced judges serving at the Supreme Court and the courts of Tashkent. At the end of the courses, participants’ acquired knowledge was assessed through tests. The results indicated a high level of achievement among all participants, who were awarded certificates upon completion of the programme.

Today, the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a presentation of the training course “International Human Rights Law in the Administration of Justice” for participants of its professional retraining courses. The event was organized through cooperation between the Academy, the International Commission of Jurists, and the British Embassy in Tashkent. Participants included D. Aripov, Vice-Rector of the Academy, Academy staff and course participants, Gemma Warren, Project Coordinator at the British Embassy in Tashkent, and Temur Shakirov, Director of the International Commission of Jurists’ Europe and Central Asia Programme. The presentation placed particular emphasis on judicial and legal reforms, the effective protection of human rights and freedoms, and the development of participants’ knowledge and skills in applying international law in judicial practice. It was noted that the course aims to deepen participants’ knowledge of international human rights treaties and universally recognized legal standards, while developing their ability to apply these standards correctly and effectively in practice.

Today, an open dialogue was held between Sherzod Yaqubjonovich Abduqodirov, Rector of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and participants of the professional retraining courses. During the meeting, the participants discussed in detail the educational process, existing challenges, and their proposals and initiatives for addressing these issues. Particular attention was given to the preparation of strong, knowledgeable, independent-minded judges with a high level of professional competence. It was emphasized that those admitted to the professional retraining courses had successfully passed the examinations and selection process and had been chosen as deserving candidates. Accordingly, the responsibility entrusted to them is substantial. The meeting highlighted that living up to the trust placed in them by the Head of State and the people, further strengthening public confidence in the judiciary, and making a meaningful contribution to the administration of justice are among the most important duties of every prospective judge. The participants were also reminded of the importance of continuous professional development, in-depth study of legislative changes, analysis of judicial practice, recognition of human rights and freedoms as the highest value, and a full understanding of the significant responsibilities associated with the judicial profession. At the conclusion of the open and constructive dialogue, the participants asked questions and shared their suggestions and views. Such open dialogues play an important role in strengthening the professional preparation of future judges, identifying their concerns, and improving the educational process.

Today, a study visit to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was organized for master’s students of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the visit, the students gained first-hand insight into the activities of the Legislative Chamber, the legislative process, and the judicial and legal reforms being implemented in the country. The meeting provided information about the roles of parliamentary committees and factions, the discussion of draft laws and submission of proposals and comments, as well as the processes of identifying systemic issues and developing legal solutions. The students had the opportunity to ask questions, connect their theoretical knowledge with practical experience, and broaden their understanding of parliamentary activities.

Employees of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by the Rector of the Academy, Sh. Abduqodirov, participated in an event on the topic “Trends and Prospects for the Development of Forensic Examination.” During the event, participants discussed the current state of forensic examination, modern scientific approaches, innovative technologies, and the implementation of advanced international experience in practice. The participants also exchanged views on further improving expert activities, enhancing the scientific and practical potential of the field, introducing modern technologies on a wider scale, and developing prospects for international cooperation. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Center, a group of active professionals who have been working effectively in the field of forensic examination and making a significant contribution to its development were ceremonially honored. A 75-year history is not merely an important anniversary, but also a vivid reflection of rich experience, scientific potential, established professional traditions, and a significant contribution to ensuring justice in our country.
