A meeting was held at the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan with Sakari Christian Melander, Professor of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of Finland’s prestigious University of Helsinki and Doctor of Legal Sciences.

🤝 During the meeting, the participants discussed prospects for establishing academic cooperation between the Academy of Justice and the University of Helsinki, exchanging experience in education and research, and implementing joint initiatives.

✅ Following the discussions, an agreement was reached to organize professional development programmes at the University of Helsinki for the Academy of Justice’s academic staff, with the aim of enhancing their teaching skills.

📚 During his visit, Professor Sakari Christian Melander also delivered a lecture to the Academy’s master’s students on current issues in European criminal law, the practical application of criminal legislation, and the improvement of criminal justice.

🎓 For reference: Sakari Christian Melander has been a professor at the University of Helsinki since 2018. He is a member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters and serves as Chair of the Finnish Lawyers’ Association.
