Japanese Experience: Professional Development in Civil Law Reform
A representative of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in professional development courses on civil law reform held in Tokyo, Japan, from 16 to 26 February 2026, with the support of the international organization JICA.
During the seminars and training sessions, Japanese professors and lecturers delivered sessions on the following topics:
— generative artificial intelligence and copyright;
— legal regulation of digital platforms;
— non-contractual obligations (tort law) and protection of non-property rights;
— choice of applicable law;
— the role and responsibilities of the judiciary in protecting rights, as well as preventive legal support;
— state participation in civil legal relations.
In addition, as part of the official visit, the delegation visited the Ministry of Justice of Japan and became acquainted with the activities of its Bureau of Judicial Affairs.
Members of the Uzbekistan delegation also held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan, Mukhsinsoja Abdurakhmonov.
At the conclusion of the seminars and training sessions, participants were awarded certificates confirming the successful completion of the “Civil Law” cooperation program.
