POLISH EXPERT ENGAGED IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. PF–141 of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Justice is tasked with engaging international experts in its educational programs.

As part of the implementation of this task, Professor Katarzyna Laskowska of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Białystok (Poland) visited the Academy of Justice.

The purpose of the visit was to introduce judges attending professional development courses to advanced foreign experience in criminal law and criminology, as well as to strengthen academic cooperation.
During the visit, Professor Laskowska met with N. Salayev, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Information-Analytical Affairs of the Academy. The parties discussed prospective areas of cooperation and expected outcomes of future joint activities.

Professor Katarzyna Laskowska then delivered a lecture for Academy participants on the topic “The Current State of Crime in Poland and the Factors Influencing Its Development.”

For reference, Professor Katarzyna Laskowska is the Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Białystok and a renowned scholar in criminology and criminal law. She is the author of more than 240 scientific publications. Her research focuses on organized crime, state security, domestic violence, and criminological issues in Central Asian countries.
