The Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted an international joint roundtable entitled “Development of the Mediation Institution in the Republic of Uzbekistan: International Standards, Judicial Practice, and Issues of Legislative Improvement.”

The participants discussed current trends in the development of the mediation institution, the incorporation of international experience into national practice, the improvement of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, as well as issues related to the further enhancement of judicial practice and the existing legislative framework.

During the event, legal scholars, practitioners, and experts exchanged views on the role of mediation within the legal system, ways to enhance its effectiveness, and approaches to implementing international standards into national legal practice. The discussions concluded with a number of practical proposals and recommendations aimed at further developing the mediation institution in Uzbekistan.
