On May 5–6 of this year, Tashkent will host a prestigious international forum on the topic:“Judicial and Legal Education and Justice in Turkic States: Digital Transformation and Integration of Best Practices.” The forum is organized by the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and will bring together representatives of leading judicial and legal educational institutions from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Türkiye. The forum program includes expert presentations and exchange of experience on judicial training and professional development, the implementation of digital technologies in the justice system, and the application of modern pedagogical approaches. Additionally, a visit of the participants to the Academy of Justice is planned, where they will become acquainted with its activities and educational infrastructure.

On April 28, 2026, a two-day special training course titled “Media Communication and Work in Crisis Situations” for information service staff of judicial bodies and judges kicked off at the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Content Production Center for Mass Media under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event brings together over 60 participants, including court press secretaries, information service representatives, and judges active in the media sphere, who are gaining up-to-date knowledge and practical skills in effective communication.

The international training course titled “Digital Justice: International Standards, Information Security and Human Rights” has been successfully concluded at the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Over the course of three days, participants deepened their knowledge and enhanced practical skills in international legal standards, anti-corruption mechanisms within the judicial system, digital forensics, prevention and detection of cybercrime, as well as modern approaches to handling digital evidence. The programme effectively combined theoretical instruction with practical sessions, interactive discussions, and experience sharing, enabling participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of contemporary approaches in the judicial and legal field. Upon completion of the course, participants were awarded certificates. They highly appreciated the excellent organization, the relevance and depth of the programme, and expressed sincere gratitude to the organizers. Participants also commended ongoing judicial reforms, digital transformation efforts, and the strengthening of international cooperation. The course served as a valuable platform for exchanging best practices, enhancing professional competencies, and building strong and sustainable professional networks among participants.

Today, the Academy of Justice hosted a high-level meeting with prominent scholars from the University of Salamanca, one of Europe’s most prestigious legal heritage sites — Professor Lorenzo M. Bujosa Vadell and Doctor Walter Reifarth Muñoz. The meeting was attended by the Academy’s leadership and international legal experts to discuss the expansion of institutional cooperation. The dialogue focused on contemporary procedural law, judicial mechanisms for the protection of human rights, and the ongoing digitalization of the judicial system. The Spanish delegation shared the University of Salamanca’s extensive expertise in legal education, particularly emphasizing their research on the judicial protection of collective interests and constitutional guarantees of due process. ⏺ The Academy of Justice proposed the following strategic initiatives to enhance the partnership: 💬 Specialized Masterclasses: Organizing advanced training seminars led by Professor Bujosa Vadell and Dr. Muñoz on "The Impact of ECtHR Jurisprudence on National Legal Frameworks" and "The Advancement of E-Mediation"; 💬 Joint Research and Publications: Collaborative authorship of legal textbooks and scientific articles addressing pressing issues in procedural law to be published in international peer-reviewed journals; 💬 Academic Exchange Programs: Establishing short-term research fellowships and internships at the University of Salamanca for the Academy’s doctoral candidates and faculty members; 💬 Curriculum Development: Integrating specialized modules such as "Collective Rights Protection" and "Procedural Cooperation with International Criminal Courts" into the Academy’s training programs, drawing on Spanish legal insights. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to elevating scientific and educational ties. Both parties agreed to commence the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to serve as a formal framework for these ambitious initiatives.

As previously reported, an event was held in the Republic of Türkiye within the framework of an international training program on human rights. The program brought together A. Khamrayev, Judge of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, N. Salayev, Vice-Rector of the Academy of Justice, D. Israilov, Head of Department, and S. Mamadiyev, Lecturer. During the program, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on current human rights issues, exchanged experiences with representatives of member states of the Turkic judicial training network, and explored modern approaches as well as best international practices. Upon completion of the program, the delegation members were awarded certificates in recognition of their successful participation. Participation in this program contributes to strengthening the professional capacity of the Academy’s representatives, deepening their understanding of international experience, and promoting the effective implementation of modern approaches within the judicial system.

A presentation event was held at the Leadership Assessment Center, established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the participation of representatives from the Presidential Administration, the Supreme Court, the Supreme Judicial Council, and the Academy of Justice. During the event, representatives of the judicial community were introduced to a modern system for the formation, assessment, and development of a professional corps of civil servants. For reference, as a result of the widespread introduction of digital solutions and artificial intelligence technologies into the civil service assessment process, the assessment duration per candidate has been reduced from an average of 7 hours to approximately 80 minutes. During the meeting, key areas of cooperation were identified, including: ▫️the use of digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in the selection of candidates for the judiciary;▫️the organization of local and international internships for district court judges and staff in public administration, digitalization, and artificial intelligence;▫️the attraction of promising specialists educated abroad through international scholarship programs such as “El-yurt umidi”, JICA, KOICA, and others to judicial bodies;▫️the organization of internships and employment opportunities for graduates of Presidential Schools and higher education institutions based on the “ustoz-mentoring” (mentor-based) approach;▫️the implementation of the “TOP-100” selection program aimed at developing a new generation of professionals and identifying high-potential leaders in public administration and the judiciary.

As previously reported (https://t.me/odilsudlovakademiyasi/4635) , the opening ceremony of a specialized training course in “Judicial Journalism” was held today at the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The course has been developed as part of a partnership between the Academy of Justice and the University of Journalism and Mass Communications. Its primary objective is to equip future journalists with a comprehensive understanding of the judicial and legal system, as well as to develop their ability to cover court proceedings in an objective, accurate, and professional manner. The event was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Kh.B. Yodgorov, First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Work of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications S.B. Rashidov, Rector of the Academy of Justice Sh.Yo. Abduqodirov, and Acting Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan Sh.O. Oripov. In their remarks, the speakers highlighted the масштабные reforms being implemented in the judicial and legal sphere, emphasized the importance of ensuring transparency and openness of the judiciary, and underscored the vital role of the media in fostering effective public engagement. A total of 41 students from the University of Journalism and Mass Communications are enrolled in the course. The program provides them with an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the judicial system and acquire practical skills for professional coverage of court proceedings.

Today, a ceremonial event was held to award certificates to the graduates of the professional retraining course of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event took place in the assembly hall of Tashkent State University of Law, attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Judges’ Association, the Women Judges’ Association, the Social Democratic Party “Adolat,” as well as graduates, their parents, and media representatives. The ceremony opened with the National Anthem. Distinguished guests highlighted that in recent years, thanks to judicial and legal reforms under the President’s leadership, significant positive improvements have been made in the training of highly qualified legal personnel. In particular, according to Presidential Decree No. PF–141 dated August 21, 2025, the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established on the basis of the Higher School of Judges under the Supreme Judicial Council, elevating the judicial training system to a fundamentally new level. For the 2025/2026 academic year, 164 participants were admitted to the professional retraining course out of 1,016 applicants, and 159 successfully completed the program. Most of the graduates are practicing professionals working in courts, advocacy, forensic institutions, and law enforcement agencies. According to statistics, 77% of graduates are men, and 23% are women. The training was conducted based on the principle of “theory – practice – simulation,” including 124 hours of theoretical instruction, 250 hours of practical training, and 250 hours of court simulations. Participants interned in courts three days a week and, working with over 4,000 electronic case files, developed the skills needed to make fair decisions. A total of 22 instructors, including former judges and international experts, participated in the program. Participants also attended training sessions with deputies, lawyers, prosecutors, and international specialists, and studied the experience of Spain, Germany, Lithuania, Turkey, Japan, and Azerbaijan. At the conclusion of the course, final assessments were conducted to evaluate both theoretical and practical knowledge. This course is considered an important step in ensuring justice and the rule of law in society. During the ceremony, a video highlighting the training of a new generation of judges was shown. Certificates were then solemnly presented to the graduates. Parents and relatives also delivered congratulatory remarks. The graduates presented a commemorative book with wishes to the Academy’s leadership and faculty. The event concluded with a group photo and a cultural performance. This ceremony not only celebrated the professional achievements of the graduates but also symbolized their readiness to serve in the judicial system.
