The Individual Interview Stage of the Entrance Examinations for Professional Retraining Courses Was Held Today, 18 August, the individual interview stage of the entrance examinations for the Professional Retraining Courses of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the 2026/2027 academic year was held. The interview process was broadcast in real time on large screens in publicly visible areas, allowing everyone to observe the proceedings. This contributed to ensuring the objectivity and transparency of the examinations. In addition, each candidate who participated in the interview was able to learn their score immediately after completing the interview. This procedure ensured greater openness throughout the entrance examination process and contributed significantly to creating equal and fair conditions for all candidates.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kh. Sulaymanova Republican Center of Forensic Expertise under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.The Memorandum is aimed at training professionals in the judicial and legal sphere, developing research activities in the field of forensic expertise, and bringing mutual cooperation to a new level.The cooperation provides for further enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of judges and judicial system employees in the field of forensic expertise, organizing training seminars, round-table discussions, and scientific and practical events with the participation of specialists, as well as conducting joint research on topical issues in the field.Following the signing of the Memorandum, the leadership of the Academy familiarized itself with the conditions created and the opportunities available at the Kh.Sulaymanova Republican Center of Forensic Expertise.The parties also agreed to develop a joint roadmap for the implementation of the Memorandum.The visit was of significant practical importance for exchanging experience and further developing prospective areas of cooperation.

The Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Research Institute “Family and Women” under the Committee on Family and Women have signed a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation. The Memorandum is aimed at further developing cooperation between the parties in the areas of family and gender issues, scientific research in the judicial and legal sphere, as well as education and professional development.Within the framework of the document, the parties will undertake scientific and practical research, organize seminars, conferences and other events with the participation of specialists, and establish the exchange of experience and scientific and methodological materials.Particular attention within the framework of cooperation will be paid to training promising female candidates for judicial positions, further enhancing their role and contribution to the judicial and legal system, expanding the representation of women in the judiciary, as well as providing scientific and practical support for measures aimed at increasing the proportion of women judges to 30 percent.This cooperation will contribute to combining the scientific and practical potential of the two organizations, improving legal knowledge on family and gender issues, enabling women to realize their professional potential within the judicial and legal system, and advancing research in this area.

The activities of the Department for Coordination of Scientific Research were closely reviewed in the presence of the Rector of the Academy of Justice, Sh. Abduqodirov, and responsible officials. During the review, the work carried out by the Department to coordinate scientific research activities, support researchers, and improve the effectiveness of scientific studies was analyzed. Particular attention was paid to further improving research activities, creating the necessary conditions for researchers, enhancing the quality of scientific work, and making effective use of the Academy’s scientific potential. Relevant proposals and recommendations were also provided to the staff regarding the development of the Department’s activities and the more effective organization of scientific research.

The readiness of the Information Resource Center for the 2026–2027 academic year was reviewed by responsible staff led by the Rector of the Academy of Justice. In particular, the Center’s material and technical facilities, book collection, provision of the educational process with the necessary literature, and access to electronic resources were reviewed. The new projects being implemented at the Center, as well as the operation of the “Electronic Library” platform, were also analyzed. Particular attention was paid to the effective use of national and international scientific databases accessible through the Information Resource Center. Relevant instructions and assignments were given to further improve the Center’s activities in the new academic year, expand access to electronic resources, and strengthen its material and technical facilities.

A short-term online advanced training course on complex categories of cases was organized for judges with the participation of Z. Omonov, a lecturer at the Academy of Justice, and S. Taganov, a judge of the Supreme Court. As part of the course, a training session was held for judges of criminal courts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the regions, Tashkent city, as well as district and city courts.The session was devoted to the topic “Liability for crimes related to the sale of narcotic drugs, their analogues or psychotropic substances using telecommunications networks, as well as the global information network Internet.”

Rector of the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Abdukodirov visited the Pro Bono Legal Clinic, where he familiarized himself with its activities, the organization of its workflow, key areas of work, as well as the practice of providing free legal assistance to citizens. 📱 Particular attention was paid to the role of the Clinic in integrating education with real-world legal practice. In particular, the discussions focused on analyzing citizens’ appeals, legally assessing specific situations, identifying the most appropriate ways to protect violated rights, and preparing the necessary legal documents.The Rector personally received a citizen and provided legal advice regarding the citizen’s appeal. This served as a clear example of a practical, people-centered approach to resolving specific legal issues.📌 The Legal Clinic is more than just a social project. It serves as an important practical platform for preparing future professionals for legal practice, improving the legal literacy of the public, and ensuring direct engagement between the Academy and society.

A SEMINAR-TRAINING ON “ACADEMIC INTEGRITY — A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY” WAS HELD A seminar-training on the topic “Academic Integrity — A Shared Responsibility” was held by the Council for Academic Integrity and Ethical Development. The seminar-training focused on the importance of strict adherence to the principles of academic integrity and further strengthening responsibility in educational and research activities. The event, attended by the Academy’s professors, lecturers, and doctoral researchers, provided detailed information on the activities of the Council, the procedure for submitting educational and scientific literature, as well as the essence and key principles of the Academic Integrity Policy.

In accordance with Paragraph 8 of Presidential Decree No. PF-141 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 21 August 2025, “On Measures to Fundamentally Improve the System of Training Highly Qualified Personnel in the Field of Justice,” it has been stipulated that professional development courses for sitting judges on complex categories of cases, as determined by the Supreme Court, shall be organized. To implement the provisions of this Decree, the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan has launched online short-term professional development courses for sitting judges. In particular, training sessions have been organized on the topic “Judicial Practice in Resolving Disputes Related to the Division of Joint Marital Property” for judges of civil courts, and “Disputes Arising from Public Procurement” for judges of economic courts. The training sessions are conducted by E. Sabirov, Associate Professor of the Academy, O'. Razikov, Judge of the Supreme Court, R. Berdiyarov, Lecturer at the Academy, and B. Isroilov, Deputy Chairperson of the Namangan Regional Court. These courses are intended to promote a uniform judicial practice in the adjudication of complex cases, ensure the correct application of legislation, and further strengthen judges’ professional knowledge and practical skills.
